13-15 May in Copenhagen

Scandinavian Intensivist Meeting is an initiative to enforce Scandinavian academic Intensive Care Medicine. For more than 25 years a network has collaborated to strengthen Intensive Care Medicine in Scandinavia. This has to a large extent been within SSAI and within ESICM. We have started and developed the Scandinavian intensivist training program within SSAI, and initiated SSCTG, the research network.

A regular meeting-point is advantageous to strengthen the network. The Scandinavian Intensivist Meetings serves this purpose. The concept is a low-budget biannual meeting in May/June with thematic single-sessions, short presentations and plenty of time for discussions. The initial 3 meetings from 2014-2018 were housed in Helsinki, now we move to Copenhagen. SSAI has generously offered a sponsorship for the next 2 meetings.

Our 4th meeting May 13-15 2020 will have ‘Better life-support in ICU’ as theme. Invited key-note speakers Francois Lamontagne (Canada) and Jean Christophe Richard (France) will present data from large randomised clinical trials on life-support (65 Trial and BIRDS trial, respectively).

A warm welcome

The SIM 2020 Meeting provides the opportunity to present  intensive care research and to network with a Scandinavian audience representing a diverse spectrum of intensive care expertise.

The SIM 2020 Program Committee will select abstracts for presentation at the meeting based on the following:

– Oral presentations by authors presenting original data of superior quality, followed by expert discussion and perspectives.

– Poster display sessions for review, discussion and questions. Paper posters will be displayed during the whole meeting.

We encourage everyone who are actively conducting research in intensive care to consider sending your abstract, including protocols for new trials.

We’re happy to receive your abstract!

Abstracts can be submitted to SIM2020abstracts@gmail.com before April 30th.
